In the fall of 2006, Bailey’s Discount Center chose to proceed with a bacpac wastewater system to replace the existing failed system at their facility. The facility is a discount shopping market with a fast food restaurant. Due to the restaurant kitchen facilities, a portion of the wastewater will be high-strength. The high strength waste and the peak peak surges during busy weekend operations are the reasons why the existing mound system failed.
The purpose of the new system was to replace the failed system, while at the same time pretreating the wastewater to reduce the waste strength and protect the discharge field.
The new system was designed to handle 3100 gallons per day of typical domestic waste and 500 gallons per day of high strength waste.
In order to reduce costs, the 2000 gallon septic tank and dosing tank were left in place to perform some pretreatment. The dosing tank would pump wastewater to the new system instead of the old mound disposal field. |
